Who Ruined Venus?

She was the sea;
the very force of life
that spoke in waves and winds.
I was the star
of light, of life;
one in the million in the sky.

When I was on fire,
it was she who was scarred,
and you were the lamp,
the spark that spoke too harsh.

When she was the wounded,
it was I who ached,
and when my bones were broken
it was she who felt it,
she cried in pain.

It was the blade you held
that tasted her blood,
just as the dust by your feet
embraced mine.

So when the battlements and taken down,
when I am fallen, broken, and torn apart,
do not ask for names.
I pray, do not ask,
do not seek to avenge my ruins.
For I am her, and she is me.
When you ruined her,
It was you who ruined me.
