I have been a part of many initiatives over the past few years. While these initiatives required my
full potential, I was also able to position myself as an active learner. Not only did I learn the art
of effective decision-making, but also resilience, courage and confidence. I can think of many
other skills that I gained while engaging in these initiatives, and I believe The Bold Code ’26 is
one of those events that could speak for the individual I am today.
When I applied for the organising committee initially, I did not have a complete understanding of what this initiative was or even what was expected of me; however, as I started working with my fellow teammates, I was able to grasp the cause of this initiative. As the weeks passed by, I realised that every
individual involved in the organising committee was working towards a common goal, and it
was this shared commitment that made me understand the true purpose of The Bold Code ’26. It
was not merely about organising an event but also about creating a platform that would
encourage people to develop confidence, leadership, and effective communication skills.
One of the reasons why The Bold Code ’26 became such a memorable experience for me was
because of the impact it had on the people who attended it. The initiative brought together people
from different backgrounds who shared a common interest in developing themselves through
public speaking and leadership. Throughout the organising process, I was able to witness the
amount of planning and teamwork that was required to transform an idea into a successful event.
Every team worked towards ensuring that participants would have a fruitful experience, from
inviting inspiring guest speakers to creating an environment where learning and interaction could
take place.
On the day of the event, seeing months of preparation come together was a rewarding
experience. It made me realise that the success of an event does not depend on one individual
alone but on the collective effort of every member involved. Being a part of this journey allowed
me to appreciate the value of commitment and responsibility on a much deeper level. Therefore,
The Bold Code ’26 will always remain one of the most memorable experiences of my university
life.
